RDEK Director Appalled by Litter In Lake Koocanusa AreaPosted: May 20, 2014

Area B Director Heath Slee has had enough.
Slee is calling on his fellow RDEK Directors and other elected officials to join him in a tour of the Koocanusa area Tuesday afternoon.
The goal of the tour is to showcase the level of disregard for the landscape and disrespect for local residents that has been shown by campers this Victoria Day weekend.
Slee has provided other councillors and media outlets with photos, showcasing garbage and empty beer cases littered around the Koocanusa area.
The RDEK Director also documented trees being cut down and left.
Those photos can be seen below.
Slee calls it a poor reflection on our neighbours to the East, referring to campers from Alberta. He feels that something must be done to address this ongoing problem, as campers from out of province will continue to camp in the East Kootenay backcountry in the future.
